Strategic Communications includes ISG's integral growth initiatives centered around business development, client engagement, and project marketing. Specifically, this area includes new business collateral and tools, proposals, reports, thought leadership events and speaking opportunities, website/blog, presentations, billable client services (e.g. referendum support, comp plan support, branding and wayfinding, digital support, etc.), and client communications (existing).

The Marketing Communications Coordinator role works directly with the Marketing Team of writers, graphic designers, coordinators, and specialty managers as well as internal ISG requestors (i.e. Architecture, Engineering, Environmental, and Planning team; office, practice group, and market leaders; BD), with support from the Director of Marketing as needed, to contribute to this segment of the firm. With direct interaction amongst firm professionals, this role is a visible and strategic position.

Emphasis will be placed on demonstrating expert writing/communications, critical thinking, organization, and creative marketing (non-design) skills to gather appropriate information, directly contribute and write, keep projects on track, and ensure optimal processes needed for superior project completion. However, contributions are not limited as ISG seeks to empower every employee owner to make a positive impact within their area of ownership.

  • Act as a coordinator/contributor for assigned components related to Request for Proposals (RFP's), Request for Qualifications (RFQ's), client communications/collateral, blog posts, marketing campaigns, and other general strategic communication requests. Contributions will include content creation, refinement, and general compilation as well as research activities.
  • Participate and potentially lead project kick-off meetings with internal requestor team, when applicable, reviewing needs, assigning follow up tasks and leads, and ensuring that all necessary information is coordinated with key stakeholders while taking opportunity to customize approach, methodology, design principles, and overall angle.
  • Research and provide forward-looking industry opportunities for advancement and growth relative to focus areas, while also having a pulse on competition and overall industry climate.
  • Uphold ISG and department principles in every interaction with internal and external team members.
  • Participate in marketing department/brand related meetings.
  • Participate in educational and professional opportunities to keep current with industry/market trends.
