ISG is excited to bolster our crew with Civil Engineering interns in our Des Moines office this summer. Applicants should have an enthusiasm for design, teamwork, and learning.  As an ISG intern, you will be among employee owners and become a valuable member of a fully integrated team, working with fellow ISGers to develop creative solutions. This role provides immense opportunities to absorb, strengthen skills, and assist team members with the development and design of cool projects.

Your home office will be our Des Moines location, which is intentionally located in East Village. It offers one the best views of the Capitol and is walking distance to some of our favorite happy hour and coffee spots, like Iowa Taproom and Scenic Route Bakery.

Your direct supervisor would be Nick Frederiksen, a dude who has worn many hats in his nearly 23 years with the company.  Lately he's been working with clients like the City of West Des Moines on new street construction and annual pavement rehabilitation. Additionally, you would work closely with folks like Alex Amadeo and Joey Whitehouse. As graduates of Iowa State University, they are seeking candidates who will also cheer on the Cyclones. Hawkeye fans need not apply. (Only kidding, of course!)

  • Pursuing an Associate or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft 365 family products.
  • Ability to work 40+ hours a week throughout the summer.
  • Exceptional organization, communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Possess an ownership mentality and eagerness for growth.
