Project Coordinator -- Permit Specialty


  • Conduct research and demonstrate advanced understanding and application of analyses, mapping, and reports related to plan review and public and private sector permitting.
  • Perform project due diligence, research, and entitlement activities including developing an overview of design guidelines, zoning, and available maps and reports.
  • Prepare comprehensive plan review and permit plan packages, schedules, and presentation materials.
  • Coordinate and lead pre-application conferences.
  • Prepare and submit permit and plan review applications, narratives, and responses.
  • Coordinate with plan review and permit officials.
  • Strive to accelerate review processes whenever possible.
  • Coordinate with internal team members and consultants from a variety of backgrounds and design disciplines.
  • Build client and review entity relationships.
  • Track information on processes and relationships.
  • Track and schedule permit tasks and provide regular updates to Project Managers.
  • Conduct pre-and-post submittal quality reviews.
  • Participate in marketing presentations and client meetings as requested.
  • Participate in project public engagement workshops and presentations.
  • Attend and present during public meetings including City Council and Planning Commission meetings.
  • Utilize your professional and personal network to develop business.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Experience in design, public process, or project management.
  • Team oriented but also motivated to work independently to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity of City, County, and State review processes including the application process for variances, CUPs, PUDs, zoning amendments, and various plan review requirements.
  • Experience with environmental permitting is a plus, though not required.
  • Excellent research skills and ability to interpret codes, rules, and ordinances.
  • Ability to read and understand plans and other design documents.
  • Organized, detail oriented, and responsive.
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and analytic skills.
  • Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects amongst cross-discipline teams with competing priorities.
  • Driven to expeditiously achieve more, without sacrificing quality.
  • Proficiency in BlueBeam, Microsoft Office, and ESRI ArcGIS.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, OneNote, and various video conferencing interfaces preferred.
